The PSA Rugby Competition is the premier First XV schoolboy rugby championship in Western Australia, contested by the member schools of the Public Schools Association. Rugby became an official PSA sport in 1961, and since 1963, teams have competed for the prestigious Brother Redmond Cup, named in honour of Brother M F Redmond, an influential teacher and sports master at Aquinas College over a span of 45 years.

The competition features Aquinas College, Christ Church Grammar School, Guildford Grammar School, Hale School, Scotch College, Trinity College, Wesley College, and Perth College. Played during Term 2 in a round-robin format, each school faces off once per season, with the championship decided on premiership points. Fixtures draw strong crowds and fierce school community support, showcasing the balance of athleticism, sportsmanship, and tradition that defines PSA Rugby.

The PSA competition remains a crucial pathway for Western Australian rugby, producing Wallabies and Super Rugby talent while maintaining a strong focus on character development, discipline, and respect. In 2025, PSA Rugby formally affiliated with RugbyWA, further strengthening its role in developing rugby across the state and connecting school communities with the broader rugby family.
