The ISA Rugby Competition is one of New South Wales' most competitive First XV schoolboy rugby championships, contested by the member schools of the Independent Sporting Association. Founded in 1990, the competition has grown into a highly respected rugby pathway, producing numerous elite-level players who have gone on to represent the Waratahs, Wallabies, and professional teams worldwide.

The Division 1 competition features St Augustine's College, Oakhill College, St Stanislaus' College, St Patrick's College, St Pius X College, St Gregory's College, and Kinross Wolaroi School. Played throughout Term 2 in a round-robin format, the season showcases fierce rivalries and high-quality schoolboy rugby. In recent years, ISA has collaborated with CAS schools in a graded inter-association competition during Term 3, creating additional competitive opportunities across all levels.

The ISA competition continues to be a vital part of New South Wales' rugby pathway, with standout performers selected for ISA representative teams before progressing to NSWCIS, NSW Schools, and Australian Schoolboys honours. The association's commitment to developing talent across all divisions has made it a cornerstone of schoolboy rugby in the state.
